MANILA, Philippines – Balanga Bishop Rufino “Jun” Sescon Jr. is ordained on Tuesday, February 25, the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution that toppled dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos.
Sescon follows the lead of his mentor, the late Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, who helped mount the EDSA uprising in 1986.
On the day he becomes a bishop, the former Greenbelt chaplain and Quiapo Church rector emphasizes love for God and love for country.
